Farm visits · Olhão

See up close where our oysters grow.

People keep asking to visit our farm, so we are preparing small-group boat visits in the Ria Formosa, by appointment. Leave your details and we'll let you know when dates open.

The visit

By boat across the lagoon, out to the trestles.

We head out by boat across the Ria Formosa to our farm of about 4,500 m². At low tide you see the iron trestles and bags where the oysters grow, and the floating bags they move to at 50–60 grams.

We explain how the oysters arrive at 12 millimetres and take about 18 months to be ready, fed only by what the lagoon provides.

The tasting

Taste the oysters with the people who grow them.

To finish, we taste our oysters, purified and opened on the spot, with lemon and our toppings. It's the best way to understand why we say an oyster au naturel is almost like drinking the water of the Ria.
